Tiree's Commitment to Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge: Building a Greener Future
In 2025, we announced our pledge to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, as part of Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge.
This challenge encourages companies from across the country to create a clean and sustainable future by taking meaningful steps to eliminate greenhouse gas emissions.
As a next step in our Net-Zero Challenge commitment, we’ve set an interim target to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% by 2030. This ambitious target exceeds the challenge’s minimum requirements, putting us on track to achieve net-zero by 2050.
What is Tiree’s commitment to Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge?
By joining Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge, Tiree is committed to achieving net-zero across our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2050, and to reducing our GHG emissions by 50% by 2030.
Addressing our emissions will involve evaluating our energy use, operational footprint, and the innovative ways we can drive sustainability across our industry to build a better future for all Canadians.
What is Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge?
Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge is an initiative that encourages Canadian companies to create plans to transition their facilities and operations to net-zero emissions by 2025.
The Challenge is part of the Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act, which became law in 2021, and calls for collaboration and innovation across all sectors to reduce emissions.
