Laurie Boschman and Jason York will play alongside teams from Ottawa’s business community at the third annual event, which has raised more than $275,000 for local charities.

OTTAWA – September 22, 2026 – Tiree, an Ottawa-based professional services firm, and Canderel, a Canadian real estate owner and developer, will host their third annual Trivia Night on October 1, 2026, at Lansdowne Park. The event has raised more than $275,000 for local charities over its first two years. This year’s proceeds support cancer research at The Ottawa Hospital.

New this year, the Senators Community Foundation joins the event as philanthropic partner. Senators alumni Laurie Boschman, the franchise’s first captain, and Jason York, a Nepean native, will play alongside competing teams. They will be joined by an expected 300 members of Ottawa’s business and public sector community for a cocktail reception, silent auction, and raffle. The raffle prize is an Ultimate Ottawa Senators Game Day Experience for two, including press box seats at a 2026-27 home game and dinner in Club CIBC.

Teams of six will compete for the title and exclusive prizes. The event will be emceed by Ian Mendes, with the trivia competition led by Outside the Box Trivia. Sponsors include EllisDon, Yardi, Sullivan, BUMP, Graebeck Construction Ltd., Quarry Consulting, Richcraft, Colliers, Dexterra Group, and Pomerleau.

“Tiree has spent more than 25 years delivering infrastructure in this region. Supporting the communities where we work and live is a core part of how we operate,” said Mark LeBlanc, President of Tiree. “Trivia Night is an extension of that, and we are grateful to the Senators Community Foundation for putting their full weight behind this year’s event.”

“The Senators Community Foundation are thrilled to partner with Tiree on this unique and exciting event and to play a role in supporting the Défi Canderel / Canderel Challenge,” said Jacqueline Belsito, President, Senators Community Foundation. “The impact of cancer research cannot simply be measured in dollars raised, but in the lives changed and saved through breakthroughs in treatment, earlier detection, and improved patient outcomes.”

For Belsito, the cause is personal. “On a personal level, I have witnessed that impact firsthand. The Ottawa Hospital applied new research findings to my husband’s treatment, and to say that this innovative approach saved his life is not an understatement. Today, he is here because of the dedication of researchers, clinicians, and donors who make this work possible. Cancer touches so many families, and that is why it is such an honour to partner with Tiree on this special fundraising effort. Together, we are helping to advance research that brings hope to patients and their loved ones while creating a healthier future for our community.”
